Study at Transworld: An Irresistible Offer

To develop overseas student recruitment and create an internationalized campus, Dr. Shu-Hsiang Hsu, the President of Transworld Institute of Technology (TIT) and Dr. Ying-Ni Chen, the Director of Center for International Affairs (CIA) led a delegation consisting of Mr. Solomon Fang, executive officer of International Exchange Section, Ms. Dolly Wang, executive officer of Public Affairs Section, Ms. Lung-Hsuan Chang, instructor of Department of Styling and Cosmetology, Ms. Ni Mei-Ya, executive secretary, and Ms. Lee Tzu-Hsuan, student model to attend the 2009 Taiwan Higher Education Fair in Malaysia held in Kuala Lumpur and Kluang from July 22 to 29.

To put TIT in the limelight, specially designed information boards displaying campus highlights and scholarship policy for international students made TIT stand out among other 53 counterparts. In addition, Ms. Tay Sze-Ming and Mr. Chong Yee-Hang who are Malaysian students at TIT were invited to share their experience and school life with prospective underclassmen. Moreover, on-site cosmetics demonstration and catwalk show grabbed the attention of bystanders, students & teachers, and the media.

During the four-day exhibition, more than 10,000 students, teachers, and parents crowded into the venues, inquiring about application criteria and admission requirements. Many of them expressed their keen interest in joining the Overseas Youth Vocational Training (Diploma) Program of Fashion Styling, in that they may be entitled to getting admitted to an undergraduate program by means of credits transfer. We shall stay in touch with those prospective students who left their contact information at the TIT stands.

There is no shortcut to success. Since 2007, CIA/TIT has been working hard in visiting Chinese Independent High Schools and strengthening ties with United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia. Despite their being travel-stained, Director Chen and her colleagues proceeded with International Fashion Design Training Camps for students & teachers at Kluang Chong Hwa High School and Perak Yuk Choy High School, which received rave notices schoolwide.
